You bring several years of experience from consulting, the energy sector, grid operations, digitalisation or an adjacent technical field. You recognise business models and operational challenges in the energy market, structure complex questions independently and turn them into concrete value-creation opportunities for grid operators. A solid understanding of how transmission and distribution system operators work - economically, technically and in regulatory terms - matters to us. You work to the highest quality standards, think close to the client and can prepare results in a way that leads to decisions.
Your responsibilities
- Consulting with depth: You work on demanding questions around digital transformation, process optimisation, system development and target pictures in grid operations - close to your clients' core processes, IT landscapes and control logics.
- Analysis & data: You structure complex data and process landscapes and develop analyses, models and decision bases - for example in congestion management, grid planning, operations management or asset-related contexts.
- Project ownership & client work: You independently take on work packages, manage projects end-to-end, steer coordination, prepare workshops and guide clients through content, options and decisions.
- Concept work & communication: You translate complex matters into clear structures, presentations, decision papers and management narratives - internally, within the project team and at the client.
- Business development & growth: You spot market needs, develop our consulting products further and help position Net Zero as a specialised boutique for controllable grid operators.
Your profile
- A completed master's degree in energy economics, electrical engineering, industrial engineering (energy), business informatics or a comparable field of study - strong academic results and analytical sharpness are a clear plus for us.
- Ideally you bring 2-4 years of relevant professional experience - for example in consulting, grid operations, the energy sector, digitalisation, IT-related transformation or a comparable environment.
- You know the value chain of transmission and distribution system operators - ideally from projects, previous roles or direct work with grid operators.
- You think entrepreneurially and solution-oriented, spot opportunities early and are driven to visibly move topics forward.
- You are strong in analysis and structuring - with Excel, Python, Matlab, Power BI or other tools - and draw clear implications from it.
- You communicate clearly and convincingly in German and English - with clients, with colleagues, at the whiteboard and in presentation-ready materials.
- You have your own perspective on business models and digital platform logics in grid operations - data-driven, grounded in regulation and focused on practical feasibility.
